Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

Did you file an extension for your 2019 taxes? If you made $65,000 or less last year, United Way's VITA volunteers can prepare your taxes for free! VITA can also assist in preparing prior year taxes or amended forms. Don't wait until the last minute to make your appointment.

Contact VITA before October 9th to ensure that your ensure that your return is filed by the October 15th deadline! 

1. If you are able to upload documents you can schedule an appointment online to have your 2019 Federal and/or State taxes prepared remotely.

2. You can drop off your documents in the red drop box at the United Way offices, 32 Ford Avenue, Milltown anytime. Please include a completed checklist and intake form. There are aso hard copies of both forms near the drop box. Please make a copy of both your Social Security Card and Photo Identification and include with your tax documents.

3. You can take advantage of our Curbside drop off (a volunteer will meet you in the parking lot of the United Way building)* BY APPOINTMENT ONLY TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS. Call 732-247-3730 and leave a message to make your drop-off appointment. A member of the United Way staff will call you back to schedule a date and time.

You must bring proof of identity, a driver’s license or any other valid Government/State/City/ School ID when you drop off your tax documents. You will also need to bring your Social Security card or (ITIN) for everyone on your tax return.
