What is a Family Child Care Provider?

United Way of Central Jersey's ParentChild+ Family Child Care (FCC) is a FREE professional development program designed to support home-based child care providers in their role of helping young children prepare for school and life success.

We know how invaluable child care providers are to families and children. For that reason, we are implementing a program with the flexibility to address the wide variety of child care environments.
  • FCC is a virtual visiting model. Meaning, twice a week for 45-minutes, an early childhood learning specialist will meet with you virtually and drop off free learning materials for you to keep at your centers.
  • During these one-on-one virtual visits, our specialist will model engaging reading, conversation, and play activities using the materials of the program.
  • Through this partnership, the learning specialist and you will work together to engage children in positive communication, build a strong interest in learning, and prepare children for the next steps of their education.

At-home Family Engagement
We also work one-on-one with providers to support their role in facilitating family engagement for all the children in their care. We ensure each child receives two books every month, the same books as you, the providers, along with guide sheets to continue learning at home with their families.
