UWCJ serves low to moderate-income (less than $75,000/year) taxpayers, prioritizing those living and/or working in Middlesex and part of Monmouth County. Our IRS-certified volunteers make it easy to file your taxes. We welcome seniors, adults, and disabled adults on fixed incomes, parents who qualify for the child credit, undocumented residents and residents with Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs).

IRS 2025 Tax Returns

The 2026 Filing Season opens soon. The IRS will start accepting and processing the 2025 tax returns starting January 26 through April 15, 2026. United Way Central Jersey will start tax preparation on Friday, January 30.

Starting January 19, taxpayers will be able to self-schedule an appointment at uwcjvitataxappt.as.me. Clients may also call 732-247-3730 or by clicking here to email.

Taxpayers using our Milltown service center need to have all documents in the office by April 4th for timely filing. Filers using our satellite sites will have until March 31. Patrons unable to timely schedule/file should request an extension. Extensions will be taken through April 14, 2026.

Taxpayers who have already received all tax statements/documents are welcome to meet with one of our IRS certified preparers. Appointments preferred, walk-ins are accepted for drop-off, pick up later.
