United Way of Central Jersey Awarded $10,000 Major Grant from The Provident Bank Foundation

 

Milltown, NJ, 08/22/2019—United Way of Central Jersey (UWCJ) announced it has received a Major Grant in the amount of $10,000 from The Provident Bank Foundation to support their expansion of the VITA program in Perth Amboy.

United Way of Central Jersey was selected to receive the grant based on their proven track record of successfully providing free income tax preparation services to low and moderate income residents for over ten years. The program will substantially enhance and increase their VITA activities and promotional efforts in the dramatically underserved City of Perth Amboy.

“United Way of Central Jersey is grateful for The Provident Bank Foundation’s $10,000 Major Grant,” said Lawrence P. O’Connell, Chair, Chief Volunteer Officer at United Way of Central Jersey. “This investment in our VITA program will assist with recruitment of additional volunteers, scheduling more ‘tax-a-thon’ days during the tax season and outreach to income eligible clients throughout Perth Amboy with new marketing materials.

” United Way of Central Jersey received the check during a presentation on August 20, 2019, at 1:30 pm at the UWCJ office, 32 Ford Ave, Milltown, NJ. Accepting from United Way of Central Jersey is Lawrence P. O’Connell, Chair, Chief Volunteer Officer and Richard Wildnauer, Treasurer.

The goal of the Major Grant is to support organizations that have identified an immediate need in the community and for the individuals they serve. The Provident Bank Foundation’s funding directly supports efforts to enhance the quality of life in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania communities served by Provident Bank through three Funding Priority Areas: Community Enrichment, Education, and Health, Youth & Families.
