How United Way is Responding to the Coronavirus

Here at the United Way of Central Jersey, health and safety are a top priority. We are taking seriously the spread of the COVID-19 virus within our state and in response to CDC recommendations to prevent transmission of the COVID-19 virus, we are taking action to responsibly and proactively deal with the situation.

The United Way of Central Jersey (UWCJ) is closely monitoring the developments surrounding the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in New Jersey and in Middlesex County. We understand the concern and we are dedicated to supporting our communities in any way that we can. The UWCJ office is closed with staff continuing to work remotely. We have cancelled in-person meetings and will be using other methods such as telecommuting to conduct regularly scheduled meetings. We are staying in touch with our community partners and will work alongside them to address concerns within the communities we serve.

Please visit the Centers for Disease Control site for recommendations on how to keep yourself, your family, and community safe. The NJ211 website is another good source of up to date information and FAQs. Childcare Aware has guidance regarding center-based and family care. Census 2020:

COVID-19 response is crucial- and so is responding to the 2020 Census Survey. The survey is still going on throughout the coming months. It has NEVER been easier to respond on your own, whether online, over the phone or by mail—all without having to meet a census taker. The United Way of Central Jersey is also continuing to conduct online Census outreach as planned, sharing a TON of social media posts on the 2020 Census and its role in young children’s lives, in addition to being available to print and electronically deliver flyers, curriculum materials, and other requests.
