UWCJ’s Family Advocate is stationed at JFK Elementary School in Jamesburg and works primarily with preschool and kindergarten students and their parents to help them navigate the education system. The Family Advocate also works with community residents, providing help with health, child care, employment, benefits and translation challenges. ESL and Latino Literacy Project classes also are provided.
The Family Advocate has established an in-school pantry that provides food for families on an emergency basis. A Healthy Food Pantry, managed by the Family Advocate, is held at the Jamesburg Elks Lodge and serves 80 families monthly.
