The 2020 Census is coming, and it's more important than ever that everyone be counted!
Middlesex County has many areas that have been under-counted, also known as "Hard To Count (HTC)", in the U.S. census survey. UWCJ will be working to engage families and caregivers of young children who live in HTC areas in our community. Middlesex County has 20 HTC tracts according to the CUNY HTC 2020 Map, including in the municipalities of Old Bridge, South River, Sayreville, New Brunswick, Highland Park, Woodbridge, Rahway, North Brunswick, Monmouth Junction, the Parlin section of Sayreville and Edison.
Accurate Census counts not only determine our representation in Congress, they also determine the amount and type of Federal assistance that comes back into the County - our tax dollars. Everyone counts, including young children and infants.
United Way of Central Jersey has recently received funding for a project to increase the number of young children ages 0-5 in the HTC areas using kiosks and Mobile Census Support Centers . Click here for more details about this project, and click here to register for the 2/21 Census 2020 meeting!
