New Americans Program

  WRITE FROM THE START

Once Again, the United Way of Central Jersey was able to supply over 3,000 children with new school supplies.  The children were referred to us by the following schools and after school programs

Broken Loaves, Coordinated Family Care, Herbert Richardson 21st Century School, House of Refuge, Knollwood Elementary, McKinley Community School, Memorial School, Nathan Hale School, Perth Amboy Catholic Intermediate School, Sacred Heart School, Southwood School, The Center School, Timothy Christian Academy, Ukrainian Assumption School and Women Aware Outreach.

The continued success of this great event is due to the tremendous response of the many concerned businesses and individuals who joined together to make this a successful event:

American Express, Bristol Myers Squibb, Cablevision, Colgate Palmolive, C&S Wholesale Grocers, Douglass Psychology Child Study Center, E.I. DuPont, Mom's Club of Edison, New Millennium Bank, Revlon,  Dr. Paula Sjolund,  Weston Solutions, and Zebra Pen.

We would also like to thank all the individuals who joined us on August 13th at our "Stuff the Bus" event and dropped off school supplies.

A special thank you to Target, Milltown who sponsored the event, Laidlaw Bus Company for providing the bus and to  Applebee's for the free gift certificates for children donating school supplies.
