Days of Caring
Many corporate employees find great satisfaction in participating in Days of Caring where they volunteer to help for a day, or more, at specific agencies that are funded by United Way of Central Jersey.  Some examples of agencies that have participated in this program are as follows;  Employees from Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cadbury-Schweppes, Alcoa, Johnson & Johnson, and Wells Fargo have painted the interior and exterior of 11 buildings at the John E. Toolan Kiddie Keep Well Camp.

Bristol-Myers Squibb, Target Stores and Johnson and Johnson employees have prepared and served meals to low income clients of Elijah's Promise

Magyar Bank and IBM employees have joined with United Way's Board of Trustees and staff to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King through a Day of Service at  several agencies including Ronald McDonald House, Puerto Rican Association for Human Development, Cerebral Palsy Association of Middlesex County and Women Helping Women.

Plans are being developed for expansion of this program to include large scale projects.

Plans for 2006 include expansion of this program to include a greater diversity of projects and involvement of corporations which will initiate workplace volunteer programs that have not previously existed.
