You can fund distribution of prescription discount programs and family insurance programs to alleviate pain and suffering for people who cannot afford care.
Problem :
There are over 1million NJ residents with no health insurance.
They may be working in part-time positions, like temporary staff, or at employers where they qualify for no health benefits.
When you are living on the edge, expenses due to illness can be overwhelming and lead to missed rent payments or worse.
|
Solution :
Today, there are state sponsored health plans that cover both parents and children in families earning up to $28,196 per year for a family of 4.
Adults can be covered at a very reasonable cost in households with income much higher. Children are eligible in families of four with incomes up to $74,200.
But too many people are not aware that these programs exist, or they are confused by the forms. Please help the United Way of Central Jersey reach this vulnerable population by funding our efforts to build awareness and to distribute information to the population that needs it most.
Almost 300,000 children in New Jersey are not covered by health insurance. Help us to help these kids.
Gift ideas:
- You can volunteer to distribute information on these programs.
- You can advocate among your friends, family and representatives about the importance of health coverage.
- You can give to help us cover the cost of awareness and distribution. $100 covers the cost of each outreach effort. Help us to inform people who have no health insurance about the health programs that they may use to lower the cost for all of us.
